A bittersweet June!

This June was a month of celebration; we joined with over 1500 people to celebrate Eid at our 8th annual Syria day, and participated in events around Manchester during Refugee Week 2018. We also learnt that we had been shortlisted for the Fusion Community Group of the Year Award.

This period of festivities gave way to sadness when we began to hear news from Syria of a new offensive by the regime. Bombing of the Daraa province has been on-going for several days. We are saddened by this news, but will continue to do all we can to be the voice of Syrian refugees in the UK whose relatives are still suffering in Syria.

Best regards,

Haytham Alhamwi
