Taking over multiple spaces at Aviva Studios, this afternoon offers an opportunity to experience Syrian and Levantine culture at its best.
Activities are suitable for all ages. Drop in on your own or bring your family and friends to enjoy live music, food, workshops and children's activities – as well as an amazing array of traditional and handmade products.

This event is produced by Celebrating Syria: A Festival of Arts and Culture with support from the Chevening Alumni Programme Fund and Factory International.

What to expect:
- Music performances throughout the day from a range of different genres. Featuring vocalist Rama Alcoutlabi in collaboration with Mario Christofi, singer and oud player Ramez Jabr, and Nasheed performance (a particular type of singing and music accompanied by percussion, popular in the Arab and Muslim world) with Nor Alsham band.
- A Damascene Arada performance by Afrah Alsham troupe – a traditional Syrian folk dance and an ancient ritual widely performed during weddings and other celebrations. This will blow your mind!
- Food! All you can dream of – from authentic Syrian street food such as Shawarma and Falafel to other mouth-watering foods such as cheese pastries, and the famous, and special, Syrian ice cream Booza.
- Syrian drinks tasting: coffee, maté tea, zhourat, tamarind and liquorice.
- Market stalls with different products including traditional gifts, soaps, handmade crafts, books, and more.
- Creative workshops including Arabic calligraphy, crafts, clay, Tatreez (embroidery) and Dabke dance.
- An interactive storytelling session for 4-to-7-year-olds with Nada Sabet from Liblib Publishing.
- Children’s fun activities such as bouncy castles, henna, face painting and more!
